Primary Use: Eggs
Bird Size: Smaller Framed, Hens 5-6lbs & Roosters 7-8lbs
Egg Production: Very prolific layer, especially in cold climates with 200-230 eggs per year
Egg Size: Large
Egg Color: Eggs very in shade of green from dark Olive to a lighter moss green. Some eggs have small brownish speckles against a green background.
Comb Type: Single Comb
Hardiness: Cold-hardy, scrappy foragers

Pronounced "Ice-Bar", a unique breed that hails from Sweden and is known for its moss green eggs. The Isbar was created by Martin Silverudd in the 1950s-1960s.
Chicks from our Blue Isbars can hatch in either the Blue, Black or Splash varieties, giving you a fun assortment of colors. For chick orders we do not takes requests for certain colors.
We have been working with this breed since 2016 and its been one of our favorites on the farm!
